Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many students in our community are English Learners, and all students would benefit from increased exposure to spoken English. Listening to stories read aloud can significantly improve English Language Learners' speaking and listening skills. Additionally, it can enhance fluency for struggling readers, including those with learning disabilities who may find independent reading challenging.

The Yoto Player offers a valuable solution by providing an engaging and accessible platform for these students to experience stories and build their reading skills.

This innovative device encourages independent learning while minimizing screen time. Yoto Cards, each containing a unique audio experience such as fiction stories, nonfiction books, or even meditation tracks, offer a rich and varied learning experience. Students pair a card with the player to access the corresponding audio. Moreover, the Yoto Player's compatibility with kid-friendly podcasts and radio broadcasts further expands its educational potential.

By incorporating the Yoto Player into our classroom, I can foster a more inclusive and engaging learning environment. This innovative technology provides a fun and effective way for all students, especially English Learners and struggling readers, to improve their fluency, reading comprehension, and overall language skills.
