Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The classroom easel is important to be able to differentiate lessons for small groups of students in our classroom. Our classes are made up of very varied learners who come to school eager to learn and grow. Differentiated and scaffolded lessons enhance participation and growth in our students. A classroom easel will allow us to engage the students in a meaningful way for our varied learners. During small groups, we hope to be able to take the lesson and break it down. The use of the easel with these small groups will give the students a chance to work through different math topics with the teacher and their classmates. We want to build a classroom where students feel comfortable to explore math concepts in different ways and having tools such as an easel and hands-on manipulatives gives our students these learning opportunities.

The easel will be used in many ways in our classroom such as a place to display anchor charts, a whiteboard for teacher-led instruction, as well as student participation.
