My Project

I am requesting Chromebook computers for my students to use in the classroom. In my class, students use many online tools for interactive learning and self-check activities for effective math learning. Online resources also allow for differentiated learning, where I can set accommodations for certain students, such as text to speech and adaptive controls.

Having these Chromebooks in my classroom will ensure that all of my students have the opportunity to access such differentiated learning and necessary academic accommodations.

Although many schools have moved onto giving every student a Chromebook due to Covid, many times there are cases where my students' Chromebooks are no longer working, and the school no longer has Chromebooks to loan. This often prevents students from engaging with the online activity, making them fall behind and unable to receive immediate feedback on mathematical practice.

My goal is to prevent this from happening, so that all of my students can receive their appropriate accommodations and personalized learning through online activities daily. I strive to teach my students to be responsible and will set up a system where students do not become dependent on my class Chromebooks every day as a result of their own forgetfulness and mishandling of their personal computers. These Chromebooks will be used every day to ensure my students are given alternative ways to demonstrate their learning, that they will be able to benefit from their appropriate accommodations, and so that they can participate in real-time class activities.
