Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are new to the school. This will be their first year and I want to give them a great impression of their first year. Since they are 2 and 3 years old, they will want to explore things around them. We are in East Harlem. The students may be from low-income households.

My Project

I am teaching 3K and my scholars are very observant, inquisitive, and like to repeat new words. They are also friendly and are learning how to be a friend. I feel that having the puppets will help them speak to each other especially when they are shy. The books will help them learn about disabilities. I can picture one of my scholars opening up one of these books and asking me what is this in the books and asking me what is this in the book which would start a discussion about it. All of these items will help them speak more, and ask more questions.
