My Project

I teach at an urban school in Mass. My school is the third largest high school in Mass. My classroom is a substantially separate classroom for students with Autism. I currently have 6 students in my classroom. I have five boys and one girl. I have two verbal students, and four nonverbal students who use an iPad that they use with the app LAMP Words for Life. My students have diverse needs and ways of learning. My school doesn't offer a budget for classroom materials. All classroom materials I buy myself. My students are in need of basic school supplies such as glue, laminating pouches, laminating machines, and velcro. My students don’t learn by taking typical paper and pencil tests. My students’ activities are made by me using lamination sheets and velcro.
