My Project

Our students’ willingness to improve despite current events is a tremendous motivator. While all students are special and unique in their own ways, students at our Elementary moved through the changes we encountered during the pandemic with attitudes characterized by what our district represents: (1) Leadership; (2) Integrity; (3) Optimism; (4) Nobility; and (5) Strength. These traits embolden our students to embody the sense of pride that comes with being a Blanchard Lion. They motivate us daily to give them our very best as we see their potential shine through in lively ways. Simply put, they are here to learn and willing to embrace both the challenges and complexities of life head-on.

COVID-19 impacted our facility in numerous ways, from moving our school-wide celebrations to virtual events to our students having to enter and exit rooms, hallways, etc.

in different directions. Still, our students were resilient in the face of the adversities the pandemic presented. Little did we hear of students complaining about the changes, especially with the need to “mask up,” and both our faculty and students worked as a team to create an environment that was still efficient and ripe with opportunity. Our students facing socioeconomic challenges were still provided the technology necessary to work from home

The robots we are requesting will help advance our students’ academic learning and well-being by bolstering our Makerspace area. This area will be used to reinforce academics through hands-on activities with current technology such as iPads and Osmos, and kinesthetic kits (magna-tiles, lego tables, walls, etc.). More than anything, this growing space gives our students opportunities to “think outside the box” of their classrooms, and see what experiences are possible for 21st-century learners.
