Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have selected this year to have my students collect their work samples throughout the year. We rarely have this opportunity to show students, where they started and where they are at the end of the year. In this binder we will collect "Comprehension, Writing, Math and journaling" work. At the end of each quarter, my goal is for my students to reflect on their progress. I will have a reflection sheet to guide students. Having them analyze their own work and identify their growth is essential for taking ownership.

The goals are to have students take pride, ownership and reflect learners.

This project would be a showcase of their learning and students can share with their parents what they have learned. Most parent teacher conferences only discuss letter grades and district scores. This binder full of collection of work samples will help parents see the actual examples of students level.

In addition, this project focuses on having students be the center of the learning and make it meaningful for them. Your donation will help launch this project and give my students that opportunity!
