My Students

We are reaching the end of the school year and what a year it has been! Meeting each other for the first time at the beginning of the year, my students and I have become family and have enjoyed learning together. The learning has not always been easy, as my students learn a bit differently than their general education peers. But they have made huge gains and would like to be rewarded with a pool party!

My students have voted unanimously for a splash park field trip experience and I think they should enjoy one!

Rollingcrest Chillum Splash Park is the location that we have chosen and we could really use your help with admission tickets to the Splash Park. An added bonus is that upon admission into the splash park, we will have an unlimited amount of time to swim. This is a field trip that is sure to be memorable for both students and families.

My Project

Much to my surprise, many of my students know how to swim. Some swim competitively outside of school while others visit indoor pools throughout the school year. Additionally, I learned how to swim as a child! After learning this information and speaking with parents, everyone is on board to celebrate our final field trip of the school year.

Rollingcrest Chillum Splash Park is one of the best indoor splash parks in our area.

Truthfully, when I was in elementary school, Rollingcrest was a go to spot for trips and family events. With renovations made throughout the years, they have continued in their tradition of providing safety and fun all year long. There are two reasons we are choosing this location. While we can't guarantee that the weather will be rain free on the date of our trip, we can certainly guarantee a good time indoors. This way, students and parents don't have to worry about a rain out or having to cut their field trip short due to inclement weather. The other perk to this location is safety. While they may know how to swim, this facility takes an added safety measure by showing students a video with a Q/A portion. Additionally, there are multiple lifeguards on duty who support students in making sure that everyone is safe at all times.

Parents and student siblings have also been invited on this trip. No matter their swimming ability, they can utilize the shallow or the novice end of the facility. With this facility being a part of the Parks and Planning resources, we have been provided with the most reasonable rate per student, making it an overall win for everyone involved. We are hoping that you can help us with our last field trip of the school year!
