This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students enjoy books and are really excited when they have access to books that I have read to them.

Almost all of my 18 students come from homes that qualify for free or reduced lunch prices.

This often means that they lack highly engaging literacy experiences. Most of my kids spend a majority of their home time playing video games, watching TV, or playing on the iPad. They are an incredible bunch of students, but they lack experiences with a rich variety of literacy materials.
