My Project
Every year, students ask what they will get to dissect. They love hands-on activities like these. This project provides them with more than a dissection experiment! With this forensic autopsy kit, students will take on the role of medical examiners, investigating the causes of death in three realistic cases. Each preserved specimen represents a unique scenario—a stab wound, gunshot wound, or spinal injury—offering students an up-close look at how real forensic investigations unfold. Students will document and analyze their findings using the same methods professional forensic scientists use for real-world applications.
Give my students the chance to be the medical examiners conducting a detailed forensic autopsy.
After their forensic autopsy, students will switch their roles to forensic scientists analyzing fingerprint evidence, blood spatter, forensic toxicology reports, and other evidence to piece together what happened to the victims. Students will gain hands-on experience that prepares them for careers in medicine, law enforcement, forensic science, and other STEM fields through this engaging investigation.
