Device Management in the Classroom

Help me give my students the resources to be organized and manage their time with an iPad pro and USB charging stations for their personal devices.

My Students

Art students ranging from 9th - 12th grades are passionate about using their imaginations to create art.

I work with very good students that have many distractions in their lives. Our school goals are to help them learn to manage their time better and organize themselves to be more successful with school to help prepare them for the real world.

The students at my school come from a variety of economic backgrounds. Some have the money to access expensive technology and others do not.

I would like to create a device management system to help all my students have the access to technology in my classroom to find resources but also be able to use it at appropriate times and purposes.

My Project

The use of devices in the classroom can be very helpful to students in managing their time, for getting ideas and resources and for managing the online classroom. It can also be a distraction for students in getting work done and managing their time. I want to create a station where students can be encouraged to use devices appropriately and give them a place to charge them and take a break from technology.

With an iPad and charging stations, I can create a device center within my room to allow students the opportunity to learn how to manage their devices and learning.

I can create an atmosphere of learning the appropriate use of devices. For those that don't have access to a personal device for learning we will provide an iPad with access to resources and apps. For those that have their own device, we would provide them a place to plug in their own devices and keep them safe and away from where they can be distracted.

With a device center I want to encourage the use of technology in my students' learning and help use a positive way to help them make good choices in using their devices appropriately.
