This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Emergent bilingual students already struggle in having to learn a new language to be worrying about basic necessities.
All of the materials listed will benefit the basic necessities that students have.
The fridge will help students maintain their meals brought from home in good conditions. The microwave they can use to heat up their home cooked meals. Students will have this located in a place where they will feel safe to go in to prepare their meals. White boards will mostly help the emergent bilingual department during tutoring, especially in math. Pencils, color pencils, marker, and sharpener will help students in their daily work or big projects. The index card will help students while preparing for presentations in English.
These are some of the essential necessities emergent bilingual students need to succeed in a country that is so new to them.
