Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a public 3rd grade classroom located Southeast of TX. I am so lucky to have the opportunity to work with the incredible students from this community, who always try to go above and beyond any expectation to get their education.

My students face many hardships in and outside of school, but they don't let any of that stop them from coming into the classroom each day with a smile on their face and a positive attitude.

These students deserve every opportunity in the world, and I hope that I can help them get closer to achieving their dreams!

My Project

My students participate in science labs weekly, but due to the lack of science safety equipment and tools many of the labs have to be modified and that doesn't allow them the full lab experience. I want them to be able to really dive into becoming scientists and doing scientific investigations, but without proper materials and resources they simply cannot. They also lack any Social Studies enrichment for stations, and the games and materials requested will help make that learning more engaging and fun for my students.

These resources will help my students create more connections to the material we are learning in the classroom.

The products I have selected will allow my students more choice and opportunity for hands-on, and most importantly, engaging learning opportunities in the classroom. I tell my students all the time we learn best by doing, but without adequate access to materials in the classroom they do not have the option to "do" as much as they need.
