My Students

My school is located in an urban area where 100% of the students qualify for the free lunch program. We are a Title I school facing budget cuts in education. As a result, our students lack educational resources such as books, magazines, computers, and even paper, scissors, and crayons.

My second graders are inquisitive, dynamic, and eager to learn about the world around them.

These enthusiastic second language learners deserve the opportunity to engage with tools that will prepare them to compete in life. Using the tablet as a learning tool will allow students to actively interact and engage in their learning. Providing this experience will facilitate improved comprehension and heighten students' knowledge of concepts.

My Project

My students need a tablet to learn about money. Tablets are a hands-on tool which can be used to increase students' interest in exploring and learning more about coin identification, classification, and addition and subtraction of money. Using the tablet as a learning tool allows students to capitalize on their intrinsic curiosity about money. Grant it, everyone needs to learn how to use money wisely!

As students acquire information, they will make educated decisions about money.

In the process, they will grow to be financially literate. Furthermore, students will be able to engage in using exciting and educational software. In doing so, students will articulate their learning using the knowledge they have gained.
