Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our diverse classroom celebrates students from various backgrounds, including many English Language Learners (ELLs) and newcomers. This year, I have several Level 1 students whose first language is not English and who need to learn the language in engaging and effective ways. As a Title I school with limited resources, it’s essential to provide tools that support their unique learning needs. I am asking for a Kindle Scribe, a protective case, and a replacement pen for this project. It is a versatile digital device that will significantly enhance the educational experience for these students.

The Kindle Scribe offers a user-friendly interface that allows students to take notes, annotate texts, and access a wealth of digital resources.

For ELLs, having a tool that combines reading and writing in one place is invaluable. It enables them to practice vocabulary, improve writing skills, and engage with literature at their own pace. The ability to highlight and make notes directly on texts fosters comprehension and retention, making learning more accessible and enjoyable.

Investing in this technology means providing our ELLs and newcomers with the resources they need to thrive academically and socially.
