This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are avid readers. Each day, they come to our reading period ecstatic to dive into books! Each of my students tells me every day that their favorite part of the day is reading partnerships when they get to read a leveled text with a friend. The excitement on their faces when it's time for partnerships each day is the best!

Decodable texts are crucial for beginning readers because they provide a structured, predictable path for learning to read, focusing on letter-sound relationships and allowing students to apply phonics skills in context, ultimately building confidence and fluency.

We are seeking some new books that I know my students will love. They are colorful and have diverse characters.
