My Students

My students are hard-working and inspired to make their ambitions come true. Like many school districts, we lack funds to be able to provide students with the materials they need to be successful in the 21st century. Third graders get excited when they see their success with different materials, resources and manipulatives. To see their faces light up as they are figuring out new concepts and life is exciting.

Teachers at my school are motivated by the success of all students both academically and in preparing them for life.

Our school currently serves K-5 students from different geographical demographics with rigorous academics. I am a part of a teacher culture that is driven to inspire the minds of young people.

These materials will allow my students to meet their fullest potential.

My Project

In my classroom, I use a math workshop approach to meet the needs of my diverse students. The Guided Math Kits in Fractions and Multiplication and Division will help me successfully plan, organize, implement, and manage Guided Math. The kits will provide me as the teacher with differentiated lesson plans, activities, games, and cards that I can use whole group when needed and small group lessons! The paper tray organizers will be used to organize the math stations so students can access what they need on their own.

Math should be engaging, understandable, fun and provide hands-on opportunities.

These kits will provide my students essential key understanding of major components of 3rd-grade math in a structured and organized way. Developing small groups can be challenging for elementary teachers as we plan small groups and whole group lessons throughout the day for all subjects. The kits can provide not only the structure of small groups over time, but differentiation.
