Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Creating a variety of learning spaces to accommodate the various learners within a classroom is not always easy. With that being said, there is one classroom area that proves to be vital on a daily basis.

Our classroom is in need of a new communal learning space.

The classroom rug area is essential to our daily lives within a classroom. It is our whole group meeting space for reading lessons, math station group meetings, or even as an independent working space. Students use this part of the classroom constantly and our current classroom rug is looking worse for the wear with its stains, tears, and old age. Not only that, but the best way to ensure the longevity of our rug is the ability to clean it daily.

Our classroom and students pride themselves on keeping a clean learning environment. Students look forward to cleaning desks, taking turns vacuuming the rug, and ensuring we all stay healthy. We have had the pleasure of having our own classroom vacuum for the last 10 years but sadly, ours is no longer working correctly. It spews our dirt versus collecting it anymore. Students deserve to work on the classroom rug space with peace of mind knowing it is clean regularly with a functioning vacuum.
