Help Ms. Mizrachi

Our K-2nd grade class of students with special needs is in need of a new desktop/PC computer. The computer will benefit the students on many levels. Our software selection includes computer "games" and activities that improve students' reading by working on their comprehension, phonics, and sight words skills. Another program develops a child's receptive and expressive speach and language, an immensely vital component to our students with speech and language impairment. In addition, we also have wonderful math improvement games for the various ages in our class. Even a simple word processing program such as Word, greatly effects student performance by making writing a fun activity! And especially for those students with fine motor delays, typing and word processing are amazing motivators. In our class, 10/13 students are not exposed to a computer in their homes. The class computer is usually their only exposure to such a critical and necessary modern day tool. We have the monitor, mouse, keyboard, and speakers--we only need the computer desktop! A PC with Windows 2000 or XP would be wonderful! If you upgraded your old computer to a newer model, we will gladly take your old one with 2000! Thank you so much!!
