My Students

Each time we start a new activity, I tell my students to "Show me ready!' The children in my classroom ARE ready to learn. They are an eager bunch of young learners.

We don't always have all of the supplies we need, but our enthusiasm makes up for it.

My children are mostly first generation Americans, with very little educational support from home. We try to make every hour of the school day count. My students are eager to learn and to try new things. They are encouraged to be risk takers.

Our school encourages a sense of community. The children often work in small groups. They are encouraged to help each other in and out of the classroom.

My Project

My students are currently sitting at tables. We do not have desks. This makes it rather difficult to follow social distancing guidelines. The current solution was to bring in folding tables so that there are only three children at each table. The room is cramped and many children have their backs to the Smartboard, making learning even more challenging than it already is during a pandemic.

Giving children their own desks will help them to feel safer and lessen their anxiety.

These desks are the perfect size to facilitate social distancing guidelines in a safe and healthy manner.
