This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Desk madness! It's a fact of life for teachers and students. Textbooks, workbooks, papers, oh my! Please help this class tell the clutter good-bye!
I have an adorable class of 18 first graders!
They are fun, loving, funny, compassionate, and super smart kids. These students LOVE to learn. I know this because they tell me so all the time. We are a Title I, low income school, but my students don't let that stop them from doing their best.
My Project
These seat sacks will help us to better organize our room. Space is limited, so we have to make the most of what we have. We have quite a few workbooks and textbooks to fit into our little desks. Students are constantly losing their papers, pencils, erasers, etc. in the black hole. Kids have actually fallen out of their chairs while leaning over trying to get things from the back of the desk. Seat sacks will allow us to place some of the workbooks and materials on the back of our chairs for easy access.
My project is important to me because my students are important to me.
These seat sacks will be used by students for years to come. They will also help keep kids from being sucked into the black hole called a desk! Oh, and it will make a teacher's job a little easier.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
