This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We are part of a NYC Outward Bound School. We use the EL Education model, which has its roots in Outward Bound. We are a diverse and respectful community committed to developing students and staff who are kind, open-minded, persistent, responsible, and courageous. With support from peers, staff, families and school partners, students engage in challenging academic and social experiences that prepare them for college level learning and full participation in civic life. Students learn to apply their intellect and effort to benefit themselves and their community.
My Project
At the commencement of the spring semester, students look forward to combining their knowledge of earthquakes and engineering to design and test earthquake resistant structures. This unit has been a beloved learning experience for students since its inception. Unfortunately, after years of engaging use, our machine conducted its last simulation at the end of the prior school year. Alternatives have been consider, however none have afforded the same invaluable experience that this product has. Therefore, it is with great sincerity that I ask your assistance in fulling this tremor table project and experience. Thank you!
