My Students

I teach Second Grade. Every day brings new ideas, new questions, and new arguments. Students are learning daily how to navigate life. Their love of learning is only challenged by their love for play. Every single one of them loves a challenge and they are only held back by my ability to raise the bar.

Our world needs more creative engineers, without them our world's biggest problems may go unsolved.

Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, create, and explore real-world ideas and technologies. This project will not only help me cultivate the skills that are necessary to future-ready my students, but it will also give me opportunities to expose them to engaging content and technology that dives into real-world problems.

My Project

Coding is becoming not just a necessary language, but also a core skill necessary to prepare students for future careers. Education has tried its best to keep up with the ever-changing economy, unfortunately, most schools do not have the funds to consistently buy exploratory technology tools for students to allow them to explore and create.

The donations for this project will give students the opportunity to explore micro:bits with mice connected to our other devices and use a variety of coding languages all while problem solving their code in real-time.

Students will not only learn to code through trial and error but they will be able to use what they learn to expand beyond the micro:bit platform. The simplicity and versatility of the micro:bit makes it a simple and engaging starting point for digital engagement. But the more students create, the more they will be able to do. The potential is endless!
