My Students

My 6th grade students are the future scientists of the world. Coming from many different backgrounds and speaking a variety of languages, they apply their prior knowledge and lived experiences to enhance their learning each day.

In my classroom, I strive to create hands-on, culturally relevant lessons that address real-world issues.

By helping to support this cause, you too can contribute to preparing the future scientists of our world!

My Project

We will be using the 3M Lava Lamp Experiment for Kids in order to build our very own lava lamps! Through this project, we will be exploring the properties of density and polarity. Each student will have an individual centrifuge tube that they can bring home with them and use to explain density to their family and friends. By constructing a product, my students will also be practicing hands-on engineering skills. This project will highlight the strengths of many of my students and give them the opportunity to showcase not only their science skills but also their artistic talents.
