My Students

My students love Circle Time. We get to read engaging books, practice our letters and numbers, and sing and dance to our favorite songs.

My students are in a self-contained preschool program for children who have Autism Spectrum Disorder, or ASD.

It is often hard for them to remain seated and attentive in an space that is not clearly defined. When a space is defined and clear of distraction, they have a much easier time paying attention to the task at hand.

My Project

I will use the rug to define our Circle Time space. This will help my students visually understand the area that they need to be seated in while participating in our Circle Time activities. The pillows will be used to define their personal space within the Circle Time rug.

The materials in this project will help my students to better understand the boundaries of the space they need to be in for our Circle Time activities.

They are great visual tools to help increase attentiveness and give my students their own space.
