This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

This year, I am seeking support to provide my 3rd grade students with math manipulatives. Math manipulatives are hands-on tools that allow students to visualize and understand mathematical concepts in a concrete way. They are especially important for third graders as they transition from simple arithmetic to more complex problem-solving and critical thinking.

Using manipulatives, students can physically explore concepts such as fractions, place value, and multiplication, making abstract ideas more tangible and understandable.

These tools also cater to different learning styles, helping to engage and support all students, including those who might struggle with traditional methods of instruction.
