Decodable Texts for the Reading Win

Help me give my students decodable reading books to develop phonics, morphemes, syntax, vocabulary, multiple meanings, and text comprehension.

My Project

I teach a group of energetic and creative third graders, many of whom are English Language Learners or need to develop a stronger base before being able to read more advanced texts independently.

My students love to learn and problem solve, but many require additional phonics and decoding support to help them achieve their reading goals.

My hard-working students deserve the opportunity to learn in an environment that can provide them with the tools they need to be successful.

Decodable readers will benefit students in my classroom as they advance their reading through targeted instruction and practice of spelling patterns, such as dipthongs and vowel patterns.

In addition, these decodable readers are chapter books. Many decodable texts are often targeted towards younger grades, leaving third graders without age appropriate materials to practice these important skills. These decodable texts allow for advanced practice of decoding, vocabulary, morphology, fluency, and comprehension skills.
