My Students

My K-5 reading intervention students are active and curious; students who learn best through hands-on activities, active learning, up-to-date books, technology, and games. The diversity found among my students is simply a mirror of the community in which they live. My school has 98.6% receiving free or reduced-rate lunch.

My classroom is unique!

I serve all students in grades K-5 who are struggling readers. All of my students enter my room eager and willing to work their hardest to gain more reading power! They are excited to participate in the reading activities my staff and I have ready for them.

My Project

As students are learning to read, it is essential they have access to high quality, engaging texts that they can actually read! These decodable texts from Flyleaf Publishing provide students with the word practice they need to grow as readers, while also keeping them engaged! I would love to have enough books for our school's first-grade students to have their own baggie of decodable text for read-to-self-time.

With these decodable reading materials, I can provide more reading experiences that target my students' exact needs to fast-track their success in reading.

Engaging, appropriately leveled text increases motivation which results in overall reading success.

The Science of Reading shows that students need decodable text to practice applying the phonics skills they are learning in class. With these decodable readers, students will feel more confident in their own reading skills and will be more interested in reading on their own!
