Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My scholars are hungry for knowledge. They love learning and have so many questions about the world. They are very aware of current events and they are ready to be change-makers in the world we live. Due to the pandemic, many of my students have gaps in their knowledge. At school, we are working to close these gaps with direct phonics instruction.

A lack of books should not prevent a student from learning or growing.

The materials being requested here would be used to create take home reading kits to support reading development at home. Students would learn and practice the sounds at school. At the end of the day, students would be able to take home a bag filled with decodable readers to continue practicing the new sounds they have learned.
