My Students

I teach a very creative and curious bunch of third graders at a Title I school! Each child in my classroom is engaged in some type of learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best varies. We have a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are an inspiring group, and I am so thankful to have a ​fantastic group of students that bring their best each day and are ready to explore daily no matter what their home lives!

My Project

These chair pockets will help my students start to organize and declutter the desks that have been used for stuffing with all of their classroom supplies. There will be a separation of writing folders and books from the binders and pencil boxes. Students who use the chair pockets will value the space in the back of their chair to keep their books unbent and folded.

Placing books in a separate area can help instill the love of literature and maintaining it precious and valuable.

Making these lessons priority will help ensure the great care taken with all literacy materials. encouraging the love of reading is a priority in our class at such a young age!
