Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

First Project was successfully funded. This is now our Second Project! For those who don't know, we will be holding an event for our high school seniors on May 21st called “Decision Day” - a lively event with food, music, raffles, and various games/activities to get the students excited about postsecondary plans and their future. This event promotes the college-going culture on campus and celebrates the seniors’ journey through college admissions.

"Decision Day" aims to empower and commemorate seniors in fulfilling their postsecondary goals - whether that includes community college, a four-year institution, trade school, the workforce, or military service.

"Decision Day" is meant for seniors to enjoy, eat, participate, and win prizes especially after all the hard work and dedication they put into their high school career. By donating, YOU will be celebrating and supporting our seniors by helping fund goodie bags for each senior, items for the activity booths at the event, and a FujiFilm Instax Mini Camera set as an extra raffle prize. Each goodie bag will have glow sticks, fidgets, and a variety of candy. Our activity booths will include: a "Bracelet Making" station, a "Thank You" card station for students to write to counselors/teachers who have made an impact, and a "Graduation Bulletin Board" station where student write their names on a grad cap and showcase their future. We were funded many raffle prizes in our last project, and now we are adding the FujiFilm Mini Camera set as an extra raffle prize at the event. All raffle prizes are meant for students to enjoy and use in their postsecondary journey. Choosing to pursue postsecondary education is an incredibly important decision to make, and we want to celebrate this decision with the seniors to feel supported by their community.
