Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at the tip of Texas, bordering Mexico, where my students speak Spanglish (English Language Learners). They face many challenges such as dyslexia, special needs, and are socioeconomically disadvantaged, but that doesn't stop them from dreaming big. Nevertheless, my students are creative, thoughtful, and full of excitement!

My students need a dry erase white board and dry erase dots to present their learning to teacher and classmates with confidence.

When I start the lesson with the text book, my students felt it too much to learn as the materials overwhelm their ability level. As a professional in education field, I have to break down the tasks and help them to understand and apply it in their everyday life. To break down the concepts, I use many tools like chart paper, white board, technology integrated resources, manipulative etc...

This Donors Choose project for the dry erase boards will ensure yet another level of success for my second grade class.

My Project

The use of dry erase boards and dry erase dots is almost a daily activity in my classroom, especially in math. It is one of our Basic Needs. When I break down the task, I let my students practice the same way I break down the skills. So dry erase boards, dry erase dots and my students are well knitted when we do math. The dry erase board allow me to see exactly what they are doing, as well as provide an easy place for them to show and share their work. When I have this compact dry erase board, it gives an easy access throughout my room and students can work on both the sides of the board without interrupting the other group. By having the board, I can use manipulative on the board during my instruction. Also, I can let students to use this as a presentation tool with their chart paper. Learning becomes more engaging and less straining for my students!

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student learning, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement by targeting their focus and attention.

The board and accessories (markers, dry erasers) will be the great asset in my class for my students. They will be able to maneuver the same way I modeled them during instruction.
