My Project
Hello! My name is Mr. P. and I teach high school English at a performing arts school in Southern California. We have a daily 35-minute study hall at our school, which helps students with their homework, in addition to incorporating SEL and team-building activities. Every Tuesday during study hall is our designated "D.E.A.R." day, which stands for "drop everything and read." These books will help me establish an interesting and informative collection of reading material to offer to students who don't have anything to read.
My goal for this project is to obtain a set of the Percy Jackson books, a collection of National Geographic magazines, and some graphic novels that tell stories out of classical mythology and folklore.
The students in my study hall are a creative, artistic, innovative, and inquisitive group of kids. Many are intrigued by mythology, as well as painting, drawing, and illustration in general. I am confident that my students will absolutely enjoy the titles that I am requesting. Thank you so much for your generosity and support! It is very much appreciated!
