My Project

The students of our school are a cohort of diverse, intelligent, and hardworking students from around the New York City Metropolitan area.

They are under constant academic and emotional stress, and put tremendous pressure on themselves to be successful.

In addition, our school is implementing a phone-free policy and students will have heightened anxiety not having their phone, and need to learn how to redirect their attention during class time. I am hoping that these stress toys and tools can help with the transition to a phone-free day, by giving students something new to do with their hands. I am also hoping they will provide some general anxiety relief from daily stress. I aim to cultivate a safe and inviting classroom environment and think these tools will contribute to student success in my classroom.

I know my students will be extremely appreciative to have toys to fidget with, colored pencils and pens to be creative with, and visual tubes to fixate on when they're having a tough day.
