Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every performer (or dance mom) knows that the finishing touches on any dance performance are the costumes and makeup! Costumes help a dancer to feel professional and immersed in the performance. Dance education goes beyond the classroom; we take our learning to the stage, museums, the city, and into life beyond school!

With dance education, students learn confidence, communication, discipline, and dedication.

As a dance team, a uniform is essential to feeling unified and looking our best. Our dance team has received beautiful jerseys from our school funding; however, we are in need of skirts to match and complete our uniforms as well as some hair bands and makeup. We are applying to arts festivals, parades, and performances all around New York City, and we want to best represent our school. These dancers have dedicated to practicing after school every Tuesday for the whole school year along with during their recess time! They work to be as prepared and well-rehearsed for each performance opportunity no matter how big or small the audience may be. I have never met such focused and determined fourth and fifth graders.

I am extremely proud of the growth they have accomplished so far this year, and I am excited to continue to work with these amazing dancers. Thank you for your support of their passions!
