My Students

I have incredible classes of students this year that are tackling high levels of mathematics from PreCalculus to AP Statistics. I believe all my students can achieve success in mathematics which can open them to a wide array of amazing STEM careers. Sadly, many adults look back on their mathematical educations with less than fond memories. I am determined that every student leaves my classroom with the belief that they are a "math person".

My students are risk takers who thrive with hands-on experiences and are encouraged to think outside the box when problem solving.

I am teaching amazing students that are going to be leaders in the STEM fields and it is my duty to help them reach their full potential and give them an amazing start to their mathematical life.

My Project

Pull back cars and Measuring Tape: One of the most confusing topics for students in AP Statistics involves linearizing data. Students will pull back cars to various distances and measure the total distance traveled each time. They will use technology to build regression models for their own data and learn how to linearize data themselves.

There is so much excitement when students walk in and see the supplies out for the day's data collection activity!

Inflatable globes: Groups of students will work with a globe to gather data in order to build confidence intervals to determine how much of the earth is water.

Monkey String: Students will measure arcs in a circle to build an understand of radians in Trigonometry
