My Project

Collecting data as a school counselor is challenging and time consuming. Using an iPad and an Apple Pencil with the utilization of a school counseling program will be most helpful in data collection and appropriate documentation. Data collection is necessary throughout the day, every day! Data collection provides evidence of student needs, interests and improvements needed. The three domains of a school counselor address academics, college and career readiness and social/emotional. Data collection can provide evidence to advocate for student needs and promote student growth. It will allow me to take a leadership role to collaborate with appropriate stakeholders to advocate for my students to implement or continue student programs & services to enrich every student to strive to reach their growth potential. Collecting data on students career interests from career surveys can assist in the planning of a Career Day with presenters of interest to the students. Utilizing an iPad with a school counselor data collection program can lessen the amount of time documenting and allow me to spend more personal time with the students building a positive and influential relationship supporting their goals.

The goal of this project is to get it funded, purchase SCUTA, a school counseling data program and to use my time as a school counselor more efficiently to service my students.

My hopes are to continue to make positive changes in the lives of all of my students and motivate them to live the best life possible.

My students enjoy learning and especially love when their school counselor comes into their classroom to teach a different type of lesson which is equally important as the academics. I have their utmost attention to deliver topics that will help them enhance their academic and career growth.
