We are so excited to be continuing our school-wide technology/STEM program this year. I teach every single child in our primary and elementary schools, which amounts to nearly 900 kids from K through 5th grade! We are working hard at building this program and purchasing the supplies we need. However, the budget can't come close to meeting the need.
Our school is absolutely wonderful, but we just do not have the budget for the supplies we need to do this right.
We are in a geographically large but relatively low population rural county which has economic disadvantages. Despite this, my students work hard and are eager to learn. They would benefit so much from this opportunity!
My Project
My students have been working on online coding at Code.org, but they are ready to move onto other coding activities. We have two Dash robots already, but that is not enough for classes of 20 students. If I could get them two more robots, each table group could have one to work with. Imagine the excitement of an elementary student who gets to code a robot to do move, sing, or play the xylophone! Dash robots are great because they work with their own free software that comes as an iPad app.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
