My Project

Our dance team consists of 16 highly motivated and talented students (15 girls and 1 boy) with an extraordinary passion for competitive dance. Our school is the NYC Chancellor’s Arts Designated High School for Staten Island. We are a relatively new team who through hard work and determination were successful at our first trip to the 2022 National Dance Association (NDA) Nationals Competition by making the finals for our hip hop routine. We believe in teamwork and dedication to our art. We practice a minimum of 6 hours per week yearlong in jazz, hip hop and game day and the entire team is also part of our school’s dance major program. Not only do we compete at several regional and national competitions but we also perform at community events for a variety of causes.

Our school has a total minority enrollment of 57% and 62% of the students are economically disadvantaged.
