This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

What I love about my students is their eagerness to learn about dance. Providing my students with the correct supplies (dance shoes) is necessary to learn and execute the steps correctly. This specific item will make a difference in the student's learning by making them feel confident and prepared in completing the dance class. Many students do not have the funds to purchase these shoes. My goals for this project are to teach students the art of dance by preparing them to succeed and perform in a show in front of their peers and family. In order to do this, being prepared is essential. Being prepared will boost their self-confidence in dancing and aid them in future life skills. My students are very special to me because I look forward to seeing them grow each year. When they are prepared, I am better suited to teach and guide them in a professional manner. My students enter the elective program as a beginner dancer and successfully move on to an intermediate and advanced level when they are prepared and apply what they've learned to the next year. Last, being prepared helps with a student's mental health because preparation allows students to feel at ease. Feeling at ease is crucial in middle school when they're going through so many changes.
