My Project

We are a Title I low income inner-city school looking for a camera to give the support needed for student scholarship auditions for dance summer intensive in addition to college auditions. This camera will also be used to support student lead dance for camera projects.

By having a reliable high quality camera we can create art with technology and give students tools needed for additional training outside of the classroom.

This camera will be used for multiple artistic and educational endeavors.

Artistically we can create a dance for camera film, teaching students the multiple jobs on a film production crew, creating transferable skills, and a new creative outlet. Dance for camera is still a fairly new art form, creating a dance specifically for film. Which offers many artistic opportunities for students.

Educationally we can use the camera for audition photos, virtual audition submissions and to record our yearly performances. The performance recordings will be used for dance reels and also to share out student performance with family members. It is extremely important to give students every opportunity possible to continue their dance education within the school and outside of it.

Dance is an ever evolving art form that has strong transferable soft skills that are needed in every professional setting. Creating strong individuals is key in creating a strong future. The camera will also be shared with the theater department for their many productions.
