Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This will be year two of this project in my classroom. Last year thanks to incredible donors my students were able to enjoy snacks for over half of the school year and were so grateful! I hope to provide my incoming students with the same opportunity. The students at CES are extraordinary kids, they are determined to succeed and have loving personalities. In second grade, students work to build meaningful relationships and gain tremendous amounts of academic knowledge.

As an adult, I have a hard time concentrating on my job when I am hungry, for a child it is even harder.

I want to give my students the opportunity to enjoy a snack every day while they are at school in addition to breakfast and lunch. I would love to provide this but unfortunately, it can become very costly.

Having this resource available will increase student growth and determination. When students feel safe and taken care of they are able to better focus their attention on academics and relationships instead of their basic necessities.
