This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In the world of construction tools are a key component of building. The proper and better the tool, the more efficient a constructed project is. The Building & Construction classes here at Waimea HS are part of the Career Technical Education programs that lead to many careers here on the island. There is a necessity to upgrade and gather tools that are being utilized in the industry.

This compound miter saw is a beast of efficiency!

Currently students are using hand tools and circular saws to make cuts in wood materials. While effective, these tools leave plenty of room for error in angles and are also tiring to use. Depending on how long the project takes to build, the build could start to suffer in quality due to fatigue of cutting.

Gaining this power tool in in an arsenal of smaller tools will provide the students with a much needed uplifting feeling of accomplishment. Coming off of the Covid lockdowns, their motivation for creating is high as they have not been able to create or build for a few years. Your help would be much appreciated.
