My Students

My chickadees are a group of five- to six-year-old sweeties that love learning! The students in my classroom are entrusted in my care, and I strive to give them the best education possible.

The students are currently in a Kindergarten ICT classroom.

Our students have disabilities that range from emotional disturbance to speech and language impaired. The school is located in Queens, NY. Our school is considered a Title I school of low economic status. These students overcome things that many adults would not be able to, and I admire their resilience.

Our kids are largely school-dependent, meaning that they rely on us in all areas. School is a safe and consistent place for my students, and I want to make sure that I help them feel prepared for learning every day. Our public school in New York City works extremely hard to provide each child with a wonderful learning experience to make sure they never realize their school is being impacted by budget cuts. Because of these budget cuts, our school can no longer provide the necessary materials for our first-grade classroom. So, I have turned to DonorsChoose to seek your help!

My Project

I will utilize the Circuit Maker as a creative outlet for my students to design and create their own projects. For example, students can create class T-shirt designs to promote our classroom community or design decals to be hung on classroom windows as an extension to a writing prompt or math problem. Students could also bring their fabulous artwork to life!

I will utilize the Cricut Maker to decorate the classroom and create a warm, welcoming environment for the students.

The Cricut Maker will allow me to quickly create engaging bulletin boards, student name tags, organizational labels, and countless other classroom decor items. Also, I can use the Cricut Maker to create fun learning centers, flash cards, and manipulatives for my students to extend their learning. With the Cricut Maker, the possibilities are endless. From classroom decor to labeling bins to organize our classroom supplies, to endless projects, there are so many uses for this Cricut in my classroom.
