Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you like to read boring pages written in black and white or vibrant pages in color? Kids growing up in today's world live in bold color, so that's how we should teach them!

Our class is located in Paterson, which was flooded last year by Hurricane Irene and lost power for over a week by Hurricane Sandy.

Students at our charter school often come from homes that are in the greatest need of assistance. Our class is a first grade transition class; the class contains students who would traditionally have been retained in kindergarten. The goal of our transition room is to provide intensive support so these children can still succeed without being retained and essentially missing a year.

My Project

Students today are growing up in a world full of HD. Can we really expect them to learn in black and white? The ink cartridges will help us provide our students with pages, readings, and activities that stand out in a rainbow of colors. Additionally, they will be able to use the writing folders to keep track of their writing samples. Finally, they will be able to print out their writing samples using the ink.

By giving our students bright and vivid materials, we will be truly customizing their learning to meet their needs.

They will be more engaged and more excited about learning new things everyday!
