I teach a special education class composed of 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders. My public school is located in Spanish Harlem on the Upper West Side of New York City. While my classroom is spacious, the desks and reading center rug are too small for my students. In order to provide my students with a more comfortable place to read and most important to encourage students to fully engage in the independent reading process I want to provide my students with deluxe bean bag chairs. These chairs will enhance our reading center and foster a love of literature in our classroom. Most of my students are not comfortable or confident in their reading abilities. You can help struggling students boost their reading skills while helping them discover the wonderful worlds of literature.
