Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a 5th grade Dual Language teacher in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Dual Language teachers need materials in both languages but unfortunately there are not sufficient funds available to make all of the purchases for our classrooms. I believe that by the 5th grade, all students should be able to write in cursive without any difficulties, if they have been practicing since at an early age. Unfortunately, the majority of my students cannot write in cursive and get easily frustrated when they have to copy something from chart paper or the blackboard, since they don't have the speed that cursive writing provides. The HOBBIES AND IDEAS LEARN TO WRITE with Raised Ruling Tablet has unique raised lines that students can feel, which makes them ideal for practicing cursive writing. The tablets include printed and embossed solid lines and printed dotted lines for practicing writing the alphabet in cursive. This tablet will definitely get my students off on the right direction and will get them motivated to practice and get better at cursive. All thirty of my students will participate in this activity. Students will remember this activity for a lifetime. Cursive writing is unique and personalized. After this activity, they may even develop their signatures!
