My Project

My students are bright, curious, and eager to connect with the world around them. Many of them use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) to express their thoughts, needs, and ideas. I am requesting books and materials from the Tell Me Curriculum to create a rich, language-filled environment that supports their communication and literacy development.

With these resources, I will create engaging read-aloud experiences where students practice using their AAC devices alongside their peers.

We will model language, act out stories, and bring books to life with hands-on activities that make learning fun and accessible. These materials will also support teachers and families in understanding how to build communication opportunities throughout the school day.

The Tell Me Curriculum is specifically designed to help emergent AAC users build their language skills through engaging, repetitive story experiences. The books in this curriculum are carefully selected to reinforce core vocabulary words—common words like go, stop, want, and more—that form the foundation of communication. By hearing and using these words in meaningful, interactive ways, my students will develop stronger language skills that will empower them to share their voices.

My goal is to provide my students with the tools they need to express themselves confidently and independently. Every child deserves the chance to share their ideas, tell their stories, and engage in the joy of literacy. Your support will help us create a classroom where communication thrives!
