My Project

Hello, my name is David and I am a special education teacher at Bancroft Elementary in Washington DC. During the COVID-19 pandemic Pre Kindergarten students have lost the opportunities to use their curiosity by touching, taking care of, and exploring different things inside and outside of the classroom. Here at Bancroft, I would like to start a curiosity room for our PreK3-4 students because they will be lacking many field trip opportunities due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The curiosity centers will include a growing center, an aquatic center, a rainforest center, and a desert center.

Each of these curiosity centers will provide students the opportunity to experience different ecological environment that are not present in their neighborhood and to grow their curiosity. According to the founder of Discover Communications, John Hendricks, when student's curiosity is exercised, they have the ability to learn more, enjoy school, and help their behavior. We greatly appreciate your help in growing student curiosity here at Bancroft Elementary School.
