Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a 2nd year teacher moving to a new grade. For the last three years, I have had the honor to teach the same students during my student teaching in first grade and long-term subbed for the same students in second grade and then as their third-grade teacher. This year, I am moving full circle back to 1st grade, where I found the love of teaching as a student teacher. I will also be moving to an empty classroom and need to obtain the materials needed for my students to succeed for years to come. I will have a diverse group of learners with various learning needs, including several students with individual learning plans.
Please help me get these items for the classroom: snacks and a set of 6 small stools so students can focus on learning and not worry about basic needs being met.
These items will allow me to provide snacks throughout the day for students who are hungry. Not all students are able to bring lunch from home and do not like school lunch. These snacks will allow students to feed their hunger and are able to focus on learning. The stools will provide flexible seating for all students to use during small group and independent work. These stools will add to the basic chair we have in the classroom and provide another option for students to choose from.
